General information

What is Unplugged Book Box?

Unplugged Book Box is a book shop that specializes in limited edition books from a variety of genres. We are no longer a subscription. Instead, we offer one time books and full boxes that include a limited edition book (typically in a hardcover with stenciled edges and a unique cover) as well as self-care and novelty merchandise.
 

How much do boxes cost?

Costs vary between boxes. Typically, one hardcover, adult fiction book costs between $28-$34 depending on the book length and the art on the book. Full box costs vary depending on how many books and items are in each box as they are all different. Feel free to peruse our shop for our latest releases to see costs!

What comes inside each box?

Each box will vary; but you can expect to see one hardcover, exclusive edition book. In addition to an exclusive book, full boxes may include multiple books, novelty items (such as drinkware, bags, kitchenware, home goods, wearables, etc) and self care goodies (such as candles, bath and body products, teas and coffee, journals, etc). Each item will be inspired by whatever theme the box is.

What are the themes?

Each box has it's own. We typically do general and genre themes such as "Romantasy" or "Cottagecore." We feature all genres, but most of the time we do Romantasy, Fantasy, and Contemporary Romance. Horror lovers might want to check out our other box- Twisted Retreat!

What age is Unplugged Book Box intended for?

 

Most of our limited edition books and boxes are intended for adults only. On occasion, we may do a Young Adult or Middle Grade appropriate book. We will clearly announce the intended age on each box announcement.

When can I sign up?

Any time our boxes are available! Please check our shop to see what is available. We typically open for a pre-order for 1-2 months with a ship date 2-3 months past our announcement. This allows time to order enough of everything and have all books and items made and shipped to us. 

What if I already own the book?

Unplugged reveals all book titles in advance on our box announcements. Keep in mind, our books are special editions with all new artwork and are typically signed.

Can I buy a single item or book from a past box?

It depends! If there is extra inventory, they will be listed on the shop. Feel free to reach out if there is something specific, and I'll see what I can do.

Do you have any leftover books of a previous box?

Most often, we don't have many in stock. However, if there is enough interest, we will start a waitlist for the possibility of a reprint. Please check our shop for waitlists and join our newsletter for reprint announcements.
 

Shipping & Billing

When does Unplugged Book Box ship?

We typically take pre-orders 2-3 months in advance of the shipment date. Please read each listing clearly for expected shipping dates and check our "shipping updates" tab for up to date information.
 

When will I be billed?

You will be billed at the time of purchase. Some boxes may offer Shopify Payment Plans, allowing you to pay in installments. You will see this option at checkout if the order qualifies.

 

How much is shipping?

Shipping depends on where you live and how much the box weighs! We use UPS and USPS to find the best rates available. Our boxes can be heavy, so we do our best to find the most affordable rates! Shipping rates are calculated at checkout.

Does Unplugged Book Box ship to my country?

Unplugged Book box ships globally with the exception of Europe, Mexico, Russia, Belarus, and Peru. 

This is subject to change at any time without warning due to unforeseen circumstances.

Is shipping tracked?

Yes! You will receive a tracking number once the boxes ship.

My box has shipped, but it is going to my old address. What do I do?

Once your box has shipped, Unplugged Book Box cannot change the address. It is your responsibility to assure that the address is up to date.
You MUST e-mail Unplugged Book Box at support@unpluggedbookbox.com to assure your address is up to date. Address changes are not saved on any processed orders, so please e-mail when you have an address change.

You may be able to intercept or forward your package to forward it to you if it has not yet been delivered to your old address. This is entirely your responsibility.

When will the box arrive?

 

If you are purchasing a pre-order, please check our Shipping Updates tab and the listing for the box you've purchased for estimated ship dates. If you live in the USA or Canada, boxes typically take between 2-10 business days. If you live elsewhere, it can take between 7-25 business days. You will receive a tracking number once a box ships.

I am an International subscriber and my tracking information hasn't updated in a while. Where is my box?

Once a box leaves the United States, it is up to local post to deliver it to you. Sometimes these updates do not register on the USPS tracking website. Unfortunately, Unplugged Book Box cannot track boxes outside of the United States any further than what your tracking information indicates. However, it is very rare that a package goes completely missing. International shipping can take a  long time to arrive to some areas around the globe  and is particularly slow during certain times of the year. It will arrive to you, but it may take a little longer than expected in some areas!

I am an international buyer. Will I be charged customs fees every month?

It depends on which country and which city you are from. Unfortunately, Unplugged has no control over international customs laws. Understand that customs fees and taxes may be applied to your box and it is solely your responsibility to pay these and to understand local laws for imports from the United States. 

 

What payment methods can I use?

Unplugged accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.

Do you accept PayPal?

Yes!

You’re sold out but I want one of the boxes! What do I do?

Thank you for your interest!
We offer a waitlist system when boxes sell out. If there is any extra inventory after a box ships, you will be offered it on the waitlist system. If there is enough interest (a long waitlist), we may offer a reprint, so keep your eyes open for announcements!

What currency do you use?

The U.S. Dollar. 

How can I order a gift for someone?

Thank you for thinking of us to use as a gift!

Simply enter your gift recipient's address at checkout.

Enter your billing information and click “checkout.” Your gift will be all set to go :)

Can I return my box or be refunded?

Unplugged does not accept returns. If you require a replacement due to a damaged product, please let us know via e-mail at support@unpluggedbookbox.com. We do require photographic evidence of the damaged product as vendors sometimes need these to fulfill replacement requests. We will also send you a return label for damaged books. We are happy to send a replacement or refund you for the cost of the product if it is out of stock.

What if I accidentally ordered two boxes and they already shipped/arrived?

If you accidentally ordered two boxes and didn't realize until they arrived, you can return the box for a refund excluding the shipping fees. 

 

Can I cancel for a refund if the box is running late?

We always do our best to ship on time. On the rare occasion that we are shipping late due to circumstances beyond our control, we do not allow cancellations for a refund. In circumstances that the post delays your shipment, we cannot offer a cancellation or refund. We do everything in our power to ship quality boxes in a timely fashion, but once a box leaves our facility, we have no control over it.

I will log your information and let you know if I'm interested in your products and for which month I'd like to feature them.

Do you have any representatives?

Unplugged holds rep searches on Instagram for Instagram, TikTok, or Youtube once a year in January. Please check our Instagram for updates on this.
